In 1991 the Roxbury Police Department located in Roxbury Township, New Jersey started its law enforcement explorer post. The police explorer program is an oppurtunity for young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 years of age to become exposed to the basics of law enforcement. The Police Explorers Unit is a Division of the Boy Scouts of America. We are a volunteer group of males and females who work with the Township of Roxbury in assisting the elderly, numerous and community events such as parades, carnivals, child fingerprinting and photo Id's.
Explorers not only learn about Law Enforcement, but are also taught discipline, team work and leadership skills that will be an asset to them throughout their lives regardless of their choice of profession.
The Roxbury Township Police Explorers Post 2188 has an extensive history...We are proud to be one of the top Explorer posts programs in the country...we have received many trophies at the National level for our expertise in law enforcement training then any other post in the country!
